An unhappy man’s unpredictable ramblings…!! Well, not really – but sounded good, right?

Illegal immigration and racism

For those who have walked through the dark alleys of conservative radio talk shows, the frequent anti-gay, anti-minority and racial comments wouldn’t surprise at all. The same big diarrhea mouths, when they switch to their suits and sit behind the desks at their studios for evening talk shows on some of the popular cable channels, they all tone down their rhetoric a little bit.

The recent debate on Illegal Immigration seems to be exposing the racism on both sides of this very important issue. Bill O’s recent ‘White-Christian-male’ rant on his popular show is one such incident. Any sane mind would cringe in disgust seeing the racial fears from both sides.

My opposition to Illegal immigration comes from my respect towards the law and order. I have zero tolerance to those who either bend or break the laws. There are many avenues where you can question the rules, policies and push for changes. But you don’t have to break it. There is no excuse.

Last week I was talking to this guy who happens to be half-Hispanic. For some reason, he found it odd that I oppose illegal immigration! He had this twisted, weird logic that all brown people should support this because we are getting more brown people in this country!! Tell me – how is it different from a white guy blindly opposing the immigration for the fear of Whites losing majority in this country?

Many times I am (like most of the desis) mistaken for a Hispanic. I remember the first incident - Back in 1999, I was waiting at the airport with a good friend of mine. A Hispanic guy walks up to us and starts asking us about something in Spanish. We had to tell him (of course, in English) that we didn’t speak Spanish.

Being a brown doesn’t mean that I should go justifying bad behavior from other browns.

More of the same...

What’s the big deal about this man infected with Tuberculosis and no-fly list? See, what a society we are living in today. It makes headlines on the news channels and websites. I can’t wait to see Anderson Cooper’s take on this!! Everybody is concerned – WOW!

By the way, how do you know that those illegal immigrants picking up the lettuce in our farms or working in almost every restaurant kitchen don’t have TB? There are thousands of undocumented workers who probably carry diseases that could make you dizzy! Did Bush-Kennedy-McCain gang ever think of this real possibility? Well, if they did, they wouldn’t be in Washington DC. They would probably be doing more decent jobs elsewhere!

Desi brothers and personal space...

Why some of the desis refuse to learn a few good things in their life? I have no clue. I was ordering my meal and there was a ‘gang’ of desis standing next to me ordering their meals. These guys were so loud, laughing, moving back and forth having no respect for personal space. One guy was so annoying; every time he laughed he would bend forward a little bit and take a step back bumping onto the older gentleman behind him, making him visibly upset.

It reminds me of the cafeteria back in one of India’s most respected companies! During peak hours, the cafeteria would be filled with so many young, hyper software engineers, yelling (aka talking by Indian standards), moving around with their plates fully filled with different curries! You make a wrong move; you would crash into someone and get a good dosage of curry on your white shirt!

Don’t call me a whining old man now. I love and respect my desi brothers. But…sometimes, they just get on my ….

I saw this on CNN – Do you think it is true? A guy shows up at the airport with 700 live snakes in his carry-on baggage including poisonous cobras? Can someone be so stupid? It’s like someone showing up at airport with his…let's say…two buffaloes or camel. I don’t know how people can be so stupid.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did Pakistani Prime Minister try to hit on Condoleezza Rice? Apparently, he tried to impress her but failed as this report says. By the way, who thinks Condi is hot? Ohhhh!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I definitely didn’t see this one coming. But, this is true. You can buy Dell computers at Walmart and Sam’s club! No kidding! If reports are true, you can buy as soon as in June second week. So, what happened to Dell’s ‘no-inventory’ theory? If I am right, the strength of Dell was just-in-time supply chain that helped to bring down the costs. If they want to sell their stuff at Wal-Mart, it will automatically build inventories, right? Well, something you may want to look into if you are holding Dell stocks. I'm sure those guys are smart and know what they are doing.

Chirac’s secret

You knew that this guy was a bogus when Muslim youth went rioting on the French streets. Those hundreds of burning cars clearly exposed this guy’s weakness. But he was busy preaching on Iraq.

Read latest on his secret account in Japan that he had categorically denied in the past.

I’m sure we are going to see more in the future.

Ron Paul - Part II

Now you all probably know who Ron Paul is. But he doesn’t exist for mainstream media!

In the online poll after the first debate, he won with majority of votes. After the second debate, he came in second in the Fox News poll by Text message. He is number one in the list of top ten searches according to technorati. His official website traffic has been beating those of Clinton and Obama.

Well, it doesn’t mean anything to our media.

After the second debate, Michigan RNC called for his removal from any future debates. What are they afraid of? Are they upset that Ron Paul is bringing a fresh air to a stage full of actors and their well rehearsed political garbage?

Major news networks like CNN, ABC and Fox News are engaged in smear campaign to make him look bad. Look at the following clip from Fox News comparing him to far-left activists. John Gibson is not new pimping for the powerful republicans. He proves it here again.

The 'most trusted' CNN was not far behind either. John Roberts and Kiran chetry made fun of him in their Morning news segment. Can someone remind those morons in CNN that this is 2007, not 1984? Ohh...disgusting.

Note: I should add that neither John Gibson nor Michelle Malkin carry any respect in the eyes of sane, non-partisan people who try to stay away from yellow journalism and partisan goons as far as possible. The only reason behind giving the video clip was to show how Ron Paul’s statements on American foreign policies were totally taken out of context and twisted by one of the major networks to make him look like one of those idiots on the far-left who believe in 9/11 conspiracy theory. It was really a stupid move in the age of youtube!

Bush-Kennedy-McCain: An axis of evil !!

Yesterday senate negotiators from both parties announced that they had reached agreement on a comprehensive immigration bill that would offer legal status to most of the nation’s 12 million illegal immigrants while also toughening border security.

We all know what’s going to happen next. The first part of the bill would be successfully implemented with all those people getting their citizenship and probably bringing rest of their family who couldn’t jump the fence to reach them over here! Second part of border security would be conveniently forgotten for the next 20 years till we have another 15 million illegal immigrants here!

As report goes, Mr. Bush praised the Senate measure, which incorporates many of his ideas, saying, “I really am anxious to sign a comprehensive immigration bill as soon as I possibly can.” Um, uh? Very interesting. When it comes to wrecking the country, bi-partisanship seems to be working really well!!
I don’t expect anything from democrats on this issue. As I said earlier, they are on a very fast track of self-destruction. But I was expecting more from conservatives. When it comes to showing their courage, they have simply backed out showing their true colors!! Filthy morons! Shame on you, republicans! Why don’t you be honest and call yourself democrats?

Ron Paul factor

Are American foreign policies influencing throat cutters (aka Islamic Terrorists)?

That was the question raised in the second GOP debate by one gutsy candidate – Ron Paul.
To be honest, I never expected it from a republican. Typical knee-jerk republicans don’t believe in it. They, somehow, believe that rest of the world is all evil if it doesn’t agree with American policies or demands. Even France was a bad country because it didn’t support Iraq war! They don’t believe in United Nations and they believe that torture works just fine!! In a places like South Carolina, sure, it does get you a big applause as we witnessed during the debate.

As I wrote in my previous post, the great thing about candidates like Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul is that they bring a ‘blunt’ side to the debate with their brutal honesty and slightly rhetorical positions. They speak their mind even if it means distancing themselves from the very voters they need to win the race. Romney’s corporate style smooth talking and his wavering positions OR Rudy’s 'I-own-9/11' style and rhetoric don’t even match the genuine Tancredo’s firm position on Illegal Immigration and federal spending with all his mumblings.

Ron Paul dropped the bomb when he explained how American foreign policies influence the terrorists including the 9/11 hijackers. Rudy, in an effort to boost his super patriotic image, totally twisted what Ron said and jumped on him without missing a beat. It was truly pathetic to see other candidates immediately asking for their thirty seconds to exploit the situation to look all tough on national defense. The media has been beating Ron Paul for suggesting that US 'invited' 9/11 attacks. See how the twisted minds of those journalists work! Ron never said that US had 'invited' the attacks. Ohhh...

The question is – Do we honestly believe that American foreign policies had No influence on 9/11 hijackers and all those throat cutters out there? They attack us because they hate our freedom and culture? Is it what you believe?

Only a well-informed, non-partisan and honest guy can answer this. To expect it from these flip-flop candidates or Sean Hannity or Dick Morris would be a mistake.

GOP - Second Round

Hope you all watched last night’s debate. If you haven’t, shame on you!! :)

It was a great debate. And Fox News did a great job. There were tough questions and especially I liked the way they quizzed each candidate at the end on whether they were real conservative candidates or not. It was job well done.

Also, it was good to see candidates going at each other. That’s what keeps them honest and real (?).

The cheapest shot of the evening came from Governor Mike Huckabee when he referred to John Edwards’ expensive haircut. The best moment was when Tancredo challenged other candidates on issues like Illegal immigration and federal spending and exposing their flip-flops! “I trust those conversions when they happen on the road to Damascus and not on the road to Des Moines” – what a brilliant line by Tancredo referring to flip-flops by leading candidates!! The most shocking moment was when Ron Paul sharply criticized American foreign policy and linked it to 9/11 attacks.

Rudy, John and Mitt were ‘politicians’ as usual. I really don’t know how honest they are about their flip-flops. Well, John McCain is still my favorite though I disagree with him on Illegal immigration and abortion rights.

It was appalling to see how most of the republican candidates don’t have any respect towards United Nations. Except John McCain, all others seemed to be ok with the ‘enhanced interrogation’ (aka torture) as well!!

My post wouldn’t be complete without talking about two of the most colorful candidates who probably have no chance to win the nomination but doing an amazing job of keeping other candidates real and honest: Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul.

Both Tancredo and Paul stand no chance. They are unelectable. Tom Tancredo is a bad communicator – he mumbles like a high school student with stage fear! But, I have tremendous respect for both. For one, they are honest and have the courage to keep it immensely ‘blunt’. In every primary, there would be one or two such rhetorical devil’s advocates and they keep the debates alive. We need them.

Pathetic state of Congress…

So….Bush is more popular than the Congress? Well, look at the new Gallop Poll numbers here!

Only 29% of Americans approve of Congress while Bush’s approval rating is at 33%.
I should admit that both ratings are pathetic. But, you would still wonder how the congress managed to make even Bush look like a winner!!

Are Democrats on a self-destructive path? Remember – how Republicans did the same mistake after taking both houses when Clinton was president? Who says we learn from our past? Certainly not our politicians!

Wondering at this strange thing called …..World !!!

This world is so strange…!! For some people it takes a year to make what Alan Greenspan makes in an hour-long speech!! For an average american, it takes almost three years to do the same! No, I am not complaining. The life is so weird and interesting – it’s hard not to stop and wonder about the whole thing.

Apparently Alan Greenspan commands $100,000 for an hour-long speech. And, he is averaging about one speech a week. Report also says that he received $8.5 millions advance for the memoir that he is working on! Damn!!

Read the full report here.

By the way, if you didn't know - Andrea Mitchell is his wife. She is quite regular on Chris Mathew Show on MSNBC.

Pro-choice Republicans and the realities of Primary….

I am all for pro-choice. A woman should have the right to decide. More over, I don’t believe in the litmus test for a candidate. Litmus test, if there is one – should be his honesty and the courage to accept the truth.
There is nothing wrong in changing our stand on any given issue. Everyday is a new learning. As we get more and more informed, we might change our views on different issues.
However,I am not sure if Mitt Romney’s change in his views on abortion is due to his new outlook on life or pure politics!!
Well, you decide.

This is one is from 1994.

This one is from 2002.

And, this one is from Hannity and Colmes on Fox news in the year 2007.

Praise the Lord...

Watch the following video clip. Harlem Preacher talking about Obama and Clintons...

So, I guess, being minority gives you a blank check on everything – you could use the N-word, you can discuss the race, ethnicity...everything. Full pass – no questions asked. Can you imagine what will happen if a white priest says anything about a half-white candidate???

Missionaries get attacked…again!!

You can read the full report and watch the disturbing video here.

It’s very depressing to see the rise of far-right and ultra-religious groups all over the world.

This is not something new, religions hardly got along with each other - you can argue. What bothers me is the fact that even religions like Hinduism is falling for this trap. You don’t see many historical accounts of Hindu religious leaders going around the world forcing people to convert to their religion. Those invaders from Islamic countries and Europe had an easy run converting Hindus to their religions. There were plenty of swords and guns involved in 'spreading' their religion. Don’t tell me it was all done in a peaceful way! The atrocities of Portuguese people in the name of Christianity in Goa region are well documented. When you are threatened with guns, anyone would accept any religion!! Even today, it's an open secret how some of the shameless missionaries (not all) are using their financial muscles and huge cash flows from western countries to attract and convert some of the poorest of poor people in India.
Now, fast forward to late 20th century. Hindu is not the same Hindu anymore. He is much more aggressive. He is more organized. He is capable of carrying out massacres. His patience and open-mindedness is all time low. He is more confrontational. Especially, the transition in the last two decades has been phenomenal. The folks from old RSS look like the peace loving monks as compared to today’s Shivsena and Bhajarang Dal members. Is it all just part of politics ? Or, Is it the beginning of a new firebrand religious movement that needs to be confronted by more liberal minded majority?

Again, time has all answers!

Sarkozy’s lessons to our liberals…

I know that it’s too early for our elections scheduled in 2008. However, the similarities are striking. Here are a few lessons from France!

- Sarkozy is a conservative who ran against Royal, a socialist, who could have been the first woman president of France. Apparently French women didn’t buy the ‘first woman’ president campaign.

- Sarkozy's grandfather was a Jewish before converting to Catholicism. So, religion doesn’t really matter in a Presidential race.

- He is very tough on crimes and known for his conservative stance on Law and Order issues. I guess, French are fed up with ‘blame the victim’ mentality. The riots by Muslim youth sealed the fate of socialist party.

- His pro-American stance shows that majority of French still don’t hate America.

- Far-left (like Far-right) can wreck the country and its economy. Demonizing your own country doesn’t win you an election.

- Finally, like it or not, socialistic approaches don’t really help economy and the problem of unemployment. Yes, it works better in areas like welfare and healthare. But it’s not good enough for stimulating the economy and deliver better results. All over the world, we have seen how ‘benefits-for-all’ policies have only strangled the economies again and again.

French are waking up, finally..

Good lessons for Americans, especially the Democrats over here.

First Debate

Even with my stiff neck, I didn’t miss last night’s debate. I was more interested in this debate than the last week’s democrat debate. I knew that there would be nothing other than Bush bashing from Democrats. There was hardly any talk on Universal healthcare that I was hoping to hear. Nothing much on the gun control either. It was all on Iraq and Bush.

On the Republican side, I should honestly admit that the debate was a disappointment. The entire debate was dominated by each candidate trying to prove their willingness to use force and go to war if needed. Also, in my opinion, every candidate was trying really hard to act like Regan referring to his quotes and his presidency in every other sentence! Current republican president GW Bush was pretty much missing all the way till the end! There were hardly any discussions on gun control or Illegal immigration. I would have loved to see Tom Tancredo going after all other ‘amnesty’ candidates!!

John McCain showed his courage and honesty in mincing no words when it came to Iraq war handling. He didn’t try to flip-flop like Mitt Romney when it came to other sensitive subjects like stem cell research. I love the real McCain who is honest, moderate and doesn’t care those corporate Weasels corrupting the DC politics.

I can’t wait to see the next round of debates….

Pain

I always hated pain. I have been sleeping most of the time for the past two days!! Never been to work in two days – thanks to a strained muscle in my neck!! I don’t know how it all started – probably it happened during sleep and magnified by the upper body workout on Monday night! Since it was only a little irritation on Monday, I continued with my scheduled bench-press and other weight training. On Tuesday morning, the pain was not too bad. Actually I was feeling better after a hot shower. By Tuesday evening, I was feeling real sharp pain and couldn’t turn my face. I had such a trouble driving home with my stiff neck! I could hardly open mouth to eat food. I couldn’t sit, I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t sleep – It was just pain, pain, pain!! This is not the first time I had a muscle pull – but this pain was too much to handle. After seeing doctor and the prescribed medication, finally I am feeling better.

Moral of the story – I am getting old!

A few questions to Illegal Immigrants

Huge demonstrations demanding a path to citizenship for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants are going on today .

I have a few questions those illegal immigrants.

- Why did you choose to enter the country without using valid channels? Do you know that it is against the law to enter another country without visa or any valid travel documents?

- How did you get a job here? Do you know that it is against the law to work without work permit and social security number? If you are working, how did you get the social security number?

- How did you manage to rent an apartment you currently live in without any valid documentation? Do you know that it is against the law?

- Are you paying taxes? Do you know that it is against the law to earn money and not pay the taxes?

- Do you drive? How did you get your driver’s license without any identification or valid documentation?

If you are violating so many local laws, why should we believe in you and grant the citizenship and voting rights? What good you can promise??

And, to those who support these illegal immigrantion, I have only one thing to say - 'Think beyond your party and votes'.
